Unearthed came from a place of curiosity — about what lies beneath the surface, both in nature and within ourselves. I was drawn to the quiet resilience of the earth, how time and weather shape the land in ways that feel both deliberate and organic.

I worked with warm neutrals, deep browns, and muted greys, layering brushstrokes and textures to echo the feel of stone, soil, and sediment. The darker tones emerged naturally, grounding the piece and adding contrast to the softer palette — like something old being revealed in fragments.

For me, this painting is about what we uncover when we slow down — the beauty in erosion, the quiet stories held in texture. Unearthed is meant to feel raw but calm, grounded but open.
